Exclusive Announcement: Wildshade – A brand new Fantasy Horse Racing Mobile Game
I hope you are all excited and ready, because we’re doing something entirely new today: I am absolutely thrilled to share an exclusive game announcement with you. You may remember German games studio Tivola from when I interviewed their Product Manager (and certified Horse Girl™) Inga Panten in early 2019.
Inga has not been idle since our chat back then: Her team at Tivola has been working on a brand new mobile horse game.
Here is your TMQ-exclusive first look at it:
Wildshade
Here’s what can be shared so far:
Wildshade is an upcoming fantasy horse racing game for iOS and Android phones. In Wildshade, you compete in fast-paced, wild races with players across the world. Magical powers and clever maneuvering are the way to victory.
In between races, you breed new horses with improved stats and cooler looks: An elaborate breeding system allows for over 40 million possible combinations of coats, colors and markings, making every horse unique.
“I’m excited for players to see our gorgeous horses and grand racing tracks,” Inga says. “There are no other horse games on mobile where you can ride these wild, magical races in beautiful environments.”
Inga is particularly proud of the game’s breeding system. “There’s a lot of complexity!” she promises. “Players can breed for 5 different stats that all affect the racing behavior. And thanks to a huge variety of markings on head and legs, and different colors for eyes and manes, the possible combinations for horses are practically endless. Every player will be able to try and breed their own individual dream horse!”

Note: Since I’m part of the dev team, you will not get a “regular” TMQ review on Wildshade from me once it’s out. I intend to be 100% transparent about my involvement in all of my reporting. This is all very new and exciting, but I’m more than happy to share what I can with the community!
Tivola has been making and publishing games since 1995. While their portfolio has always been family-friendly, they have recently put more focus on horse-themed games in particular.
Product Manager Inga Panten invited me to visit Tivola’s offices in Hamburg for a day to get a look behind the scenes.
